3...2...1...ignition...LIFT OFF!!

I had every intention of trying to update this blog in semi-real time during the launch event. Unlike the launch itself, that plan went out the window.
The atmosphere in the ESOC conference room was electric, so many members of the social media group mingling with technical and managerial staff of the ESA awaiting that ever important count down to finish. I have a short 1 minute clip of the final moments before the end of the countdown, and the moments after the Vega jumped off the pad, but I will have to update this post with said video once I am back on wifi that can upload it this side of Christmas. In the mean time, the image below, says it all.....
